Greens

So this is where I've started with the greens. Not much but I am happy with the yellow such as it is. Although I'm a sucker for a good yellow. Actually from the picture the actual yellow is a bit brighter. The second set of greens is leading me back to the greens I saw out in the desert southwest last spring. They were a sort of earthy mint green. More of these to come as I continue the search.

hi Karl- enjoy your site. I am a very small time pastel maker, very small time, all hand made in small batches. to get a screaming green, try cadmium yellow medium with thalo green or viridian. With a chromium oxide base you can't ever get a really bright green. You can always knock a bright down but the reverse never works. Black just kills pastel color in my opinion. makes sooty unpleasant darks. Don't know why artist think they want or need these colors, take care....Paul deMarrais http://www.pauldemarrais.com
